Resident at Lancashire care home marks 90th birthday in styleToday everyone at HC-One’s Ashton View care home, in Wigan, everyone helped to celebrate one very special Residents 90th birthday.

Ethel Mutimer’s only request was for “minimal fuss” and to see her son. So, on the day of her birthday, Colleagues booked in for Ethel’s son Stephen to come and visit, see pictured top right. She really enjoyed her visit and Stephen came laden with cards and gifts which were very well received.

Later on, in the day, Ethel went back to her community where all Colleagues and Residents joined in for a mini party. Accompanied with Ethel’s favourite music playing, balloons, banners and of course a cake. Colleagues also made up a big hamper for Ethel to enjoy.

Everyone sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and enjoyed a slice of cake while raising a glass to Ethel.

Ethel loved listening to her favourite music which was a selection of Glen Miller, Doris Day and Vera Lynn. She danced and sand along to the songs.

Stacey Sharples, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “Ethel Mutimer, happy 90 years from us all at Ashton View.”
