Resident celebrates 95th birthday at Leeds care homeResident Mildred Page, at HC One’s Colton Lodges care home, celebrated her 95th birthday today.

Mildred's family asked if they could send a video message for her birthday as they were unable to visit the Leeds care home due to lockdown restrictions.

Colleague Rose Wetherill set up the video call and explained to the family if they are sending gifts they would need to do so 72 hours before the big day, so the home can make sure Mildred gets them in time.

Rose went to see Mildred on her birthday and took all the gifts that her family had sent in. Mildred said “thank-you all for everything”.

When Rose went to see Mildred she explained that she had a video message from her family. Rose played the video message for Mildred and afterwards Rose and Dawn sang ‘happy birthday’ to her.

The kitchen made some delicious cupcakes for all the Residents on the unit so they could celebrate Mildred’s 96th birthday too.

Dawn took photos of her special day to send to Mildred's family. Overall she had a wonderful day even if it was a bit different than usual.
