Resident's touching speech for Remembrance DayThis year one of the Residents at Brindley Court care home, in Longport, Stoke on Trent, John, lead the service commemorating Remembrance Day.

Each year the maintenance Colleague usually creates a display outside the home. Residents also make poppies to add to the decorations outside.

During the week, Residents made poppies, took part in readings commemorating the past, and watched movies on the war.

Resident John Whieldon, pictured, laid the poppy wreath and made a speech to commemorate the occasion, he thanked Colleagues at Brindley Court for keeping the Residents safe, especially during these times.

Residents thoroughly enjoyed the day and John's speech was especially touching.

Benette Delos Santos, Home Manager, remarked, “It was a time of contemplation and being grateful for what we do have in these times. The day was very touching all round, lots of sentiment and time to think. John's speech was a moving tribute to the past and the future.”
