Residents at Ashton care home enjoy a room revampResidents at HC One’s Amerind Grove have been helping to redecorate their rooms.

During a recent Residents meeting at the Ashton care home, Colleagues discussed goals and how they can help Residents meet their goals.

A number of Residents stated that they would like their rooms decorated, one person said that their room looked boring and wanted to give it some character.

After this the staff have been working with each Resident in order to revamp and decorate their rooms exactly how they would like. Colleagues spend one to one time with the Residents, looking at paint charts as well as discussing themes and accessories.

This has gone down very well and the Residents that have participated in the redecoration of their rooms have been thrilled with the result as well as enjoying the journey to reach that goal.

One Resident commented “oh it’s beautiful, I love it”, whilst another said “it’s much better now.”

The home manager said “I’m very proud of Kay (part of the wellbeing team) and all the hard work she is doing. The Residents are really pleased with their revamped rooms. I would like ultimately, to facilitate each and every one of our Residents having this experience (if they wish to).”
