Residents from HC One’s Colton Lodges care home enjoyed a test of taste the difference today.
Colleagues at the Leeds care home chose a number of different cake, biscuits and crackers and placed them alongside a variety which was wheat and gluten free.
Residents would then taste one of each and say which they preferred, we could then see if they liked the taste of the normal version over the free from versions.
The Residents really enjoyed trying the different items of food. Some had questioned before why some Residents get different cakes and this is due to some having a wheat intolerance, so we decided to do this task so they could try these too.
One Resident commented “they taste the same, I thought they would taste like cardboard.”
