Residents dress up for VE Day celebrations at Mansfield care homeResidents at HC-One’s Berry Hill Park in Mansfield enjoyed a morning chair dancing session, 40’s music and a fancy-dress afternoon on this year’s VE Day.

On 8th May, Residents gathered in the homes lounge and started VE Day celebrations off early. During the morning, Residents listened to some classic war songs, songs from the 40’s and enjoyed some lovely breakfast options.

Later in the day, Residents enjoyed a sing along and were served some lovely tea and biscuits from the trolley.

During the afternoon, Residents pained buntings using a May blossom and flower design.

Lisa Tungate, Berry Hill Park Home Manager said: “A fun day full of reminiscing and music from the 1940’s. The buntings look great and they will be used in the summer months to give the home that more of a special feel.”

Ideally placed in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, Berry Hill Park is a purpose-built, 66 bed care home, which offers residential, nursing and memory care, for those living with dementia.
