Residents embrace start of autumn with garden watch at Shelton LockResidents at Shelton Lock care home in Derby embraced the beginning of autumn with a relaxing garden watch in the September sunshine.

As part of the home’s wellbeing programme, Colleagues at Shelton Lock are encouraging Residents to observe and document the visitors they see in the garden.

To encourage more wildlife to visit the home’s garden, Residents are going to be making home-made bird feeders in the coming weeks.

Residents have been equipped with binoculars to spot the different creatures in the garden, including sparrows, dragonflies and squirrels, so that people can join in from both inside and outside the home.

The activity has gone down a treat amongst those living at the home, with one Resident commenting: “How exciting! We have a little squirrel who has started visiting the garden.”
