Residents enjoy sensory activity at Sunderland care homeResidents enjoyed an activity which explored a variety of senses at HC-One’s Falstone Court care home in Roker, Sunderland. 

The team arranged an activity which would promote the use of Resident’s different senses, participants took turns rattling shakers and guessing which items were in the shakers. They also explored sensory balls and twiddle muffs, Residents enjoyed the feeling of the sensory balls rolling up and down their arms.

A great time was had by all, with one Resident commenting: “I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was a really enjoyable and relaxing activity.”

Falstone Court Home Manager, Julie Merritt said: “I am so pleased our Residents enjoyed their sensory session, it will be something we will be doing more of at Falstone Court.”

Located on Cliffe Park, Falstone Court care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen that require residential care, nursing care and memory care, for those living with dementia. 

The home also boasts an overall ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission, last inspected in November 2020.
