Huyton home hairdressers – open for businessRoby Lodge care home in Huyton, Merseyside, have started their own in-house hairdressers for all Residents who are currently, like so many other people, unable to have their regular scheduled hairdressing appointments.

With no idea how long it would be until a hairdresser would be allowed to come into the home, Colleagues at Roby Lodge jumped into action and decided to get their scissors and shampoos at the ready so that the Residents can be given a much desired haircut and receive the full luxury of a hair appointment. As you can see by their faces, Residents very much appreciated it. See pictured Residents Irene Redmond, Viv Monk, Shirley Gallagher and Sheila Shard.

Rebecca Murphy, who works at Roby Lodge, has been nominated for a HC-One ‘Kindness in Care Award’ for her efforts in this.

She commented, “Our Residents loved being back in the hairdressing salon! Under the new social distancing and PPE guidelines of course.”

Residents said, “I love my hair cut, I hated my hair (being) so long” and “The staff always go out their way to make us happy.”

Home Manager, Lisa Casey, commented, “It’s lovely to see a smile on our Residents’ face, they were so happy and I am so proud of my Colleagues.”
