Scrumptious Macmillan coffee afternoon at Manchester care homeWestwood Lodge care home on Helmsman Way fundraised for Macmillan Cancer Support this week.

Colleagues hosted games and baking cakes for sale. The game was guessing how many sprinkles were on a Colin the Caterpillar cake to be in with a chance of winning a bottle of Beefeater Pink Gin.

Some amazing cakes were baked including an M&M cheesecake and beautiful buttercream cupcakes

Resident Mavis Farrell remarked, “The Victoria sponge cake was lovely!”

The Residents loved trying all the different cakes with a cup of tea or coffee. Their favourite cakes were the buttercream sponge cupcakes. So, the winner of the best baker was Care Assistant, Cheryl Gaskell, who made these scrumptious cakes.

In total, £100.00 was raised for Macmillan.

Home Manager, Lorraine Young, commented, “The cakes were gorgeous, and Chloe and Ashley always go the extra mile for good causes.”
