September celebrations at Perry LocksThroughout September at Perry Locks in Birmingham, which offers nursing, residential, nursing dementia and residential dementia care, a wide range of activities have taken place.

Caribbean night was held in September for the Residents at Perry locks, where the home was transformed with bright colourful garlands and Caribbean themed decorations. Residents enjoyed fruity cocktails with non-alcoholic alternatives also provided, and a wide range of different Caribbean street food. Colleagues dressed up with a Caribbean feel including wearing grass skirts!

Later in the month, the home also celebrated both World Alzheimer’s Day and Gratitude Day. On both of these days, a varied buffet was provided to all Residents and Colleagues, with a number of activities including, bingo, quiz night, name that tune, tenable and play your cards right. Sarah, the receptionist also decorated the main reception area for Alzheimer’s Day and Gratitude Day. 

Residents praised the wellbeing staff for making all of these activities different and unique, with one saying, “It has been a big month here, we have had so many activities and different events to celebrate”. Another Resident also expressed how much they enjoyed the cocktails and food. 

Rebecca, the Home Manager also piled on the praise onto all of the staff and commented “The staff at Perry Locks are so multi-talented. They provided so much fun and interesting activities for our Residents to enjoy”.
