Soul Singing is a success at Coventry care homeBrandon House care home in Coventry has introduced its very own Soul Singing group for Residents and members of the local community to come together and enjoy.

After witnessing the benefits of music and singing for those living with dementia, Colleagues at Brandon House established their very own Soul Singing group.

The home’s first session saw Residents from nearby HC-One homes joining in with the fun, as Brandon House’s Maintenance Officer Paul played the guitar and Andy, a Colleague at Victoria Gardens care home, took a lead on the singing.

Residents loved singing and dancing along to a number of all-time favourite hits, including Roll out the Barrel and Hey Jude.

The first session was such a success that everyone is already looking forward to the next on 28th February.

One Resident commented: “It was great to raise the roof and sing our heads off! The hour flew by and we wanted to do it all again.”

Sheryl Davis, Home Manager at Brandon House, said: “It was great to see the Residents making new friends and singing together with the local community.”
