Nan Bird, a Resident at HC One’s Brompton House care home, received a special visit from some horses today.
Resident Nan has a real love for horses, which head chef Steve McGrath at the Broadway care home knows about.
The lockdown has been difficult for everyone, and Nan had been feeling a little down with it all so Steve decided to do something to cheer her up.
Steve arrange for two local riders to come up Nan’s window for a special visit as a surprise. The riders often go past the home on their route.
Nan was absolutely delighted to see the beautiful animals at her window. He riders also agreed to look out for her and wave when they pass by the home.
Nan said “what a wonderful surprise, thank-you so much.”
The home manager commented “We listen to our Residents here at Brompton, and when Nan told Steve she loves it when horses go past her window, he had an idea.”
