Sponsored cycle raises over £600 for Alloa care homeThree team members from HC-One’s The Orchard care home in Tullibody, Alloa put on their cycling shorts and took to the hillfoots to raise money for the Resident’s Comfort Fund.

Wellbeing Coordinator, Louise Smullen, Senior Care Assistant, Lisa-Marie Gray and Nursing Assistant, Macristina Sebastian took part in a sponsored cycle which saw them covering 18 miles all in effort to raise money for the Residents at The Orchard.

Starting the sponsored cycle at the care home, the ladies were cheered on by their Colleagues and Residents as they set off in the 25-degree weather. Half way through the 18 round trip, they stopped at a bakery in Tillicoultry for some well-earned lunch before setting off to complete the final leg of their journey.

Their efforts were rewarded with over £600 being raised for the Resident’s Comfort Fund with money still being donated.

The Orchard Home Manager, Fiona Johnstone said: “What an amazing achievement, well done ladies your efforts are greatly appreciated by all of us at The Orchard.”

Located on Lychgate Road, The Orchard offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen in Alloa that require nursing care and nursing memory care for those living with dementia.
