Stevenage care home run Museum Week for ResidentsResidents at HC-One’s Woodlands View care home in Stevenage enjoyed experiencing the Museum Week, where they learned about many different historical events.

On 15th May, Woodlands View opened up their Reception area for a week and transformed it into a Museum and cafe for the afternoons where Residents could come for a chat and to look at some old and sentimental items that the staff had hidden away in their homes.

The Residents enjoyed looking at all the items from things like 'The War Illustrated' Magazines, an antique nurses buckle, a stoneware hot water bottle, sharks’ teeth and plenty of other things that they were able to reminisce about with others.

Woodlands View Home Manager Deby O’Hare said: “It was lovely to hear all the stories the Residents told as some of the items they had when they were younger.”

Located in Poplars, just three miles from Stevenage town centre, Woodlands View is a friendly care home with 120 beds, offering residential, nursing and nursing dementia care.
