Stockport Residents take part in keep fit sessionAt nursing and residential memory care home, Appleton Manor, a keep fit session takes place three times a week and has been ever-growing for these enthusiastic Residents.

Linking up virtually by Zoom with Joe and Tony from Burns Gym, allows the home to host regular sessions every week. Appleton manor also link up with other care homes from around the country; with homes as far as Scotland joining in!

These gentle chair-based exercises are great to keep Residents strong and on the move. As you can see from photograph, it is a very big hit with Residents; everyone gets involved.

After the session has finished, refreshments are then served after a good work out.

The oldest Resident who takes an active part is Dorothy who is 101 years old. What an inspirational lady as she is very motivated and ready to take part every session.

Fellow Resident Doreen said, “I love these sessions, it’s like when I was younger and and had a personal trainer."

Sarah, from the wellbeing team, commented, “It really inspires me to see the Residents participate. Knowing this can help in many ways to keep them active."
