Stockport care home Colleague turns hairdresserSarah, the wellbeing coordinator at HC One’s Appleton Manor care home has been putting her hairdressing skills to great use.

Sarah, wellbeing coordinator at the Stockport care home, has worked at the home for over four and a half years. When she first started she was part time and training to be a hairdresser.

Sarah is now qualified with a level two and three in ladies hair dressing, and has completed a short course on men’s barbering too.

Since going into lockdown and hairdressers not being allowed into the home, Sarah has stepped into their shoes to become the Residents go to for a new hairdo.

A couple of the lady Residents asked Sarah to cut their hair, and some of the men have started too as well.

The Residents look fantastic and are very happy with their new looks, Sadie a Resident at the home commented “aww thank-you I love my new hair!”

Sarah said “it’s lovely to be able to see the Residents happy.”
