Residents from HC-One’s Falstone Court baking club recently enjoyed an afternoon making Christmas cake, to make sure that when Christmas came, they can make the perfect cake.
Baking club members Florence David, Florence Giasper, William Jarvis and George Jenkins all gathered in the home’s kitchen and dining areas on 25th October to start preparations for their Christmas feast.
Residents loved whisking the cake mix and tasting and smelling all the ingredients as they progressed through the baking stages. They also enjoyed the social aspect of making the cake, having a socially distanced chat with each other and reminiscing about Christmas when they were younger.
Falstone Court Resident Florence Davies said: “It smells lovely, it’s just like Christmas, I often made cakes for my children during Christmas.”
