Over the course of three months the staff and Residents at
Defoe Court in Newton Aycliffe which offers residential and nursing care, have been taking part in a competition to grow the biggest sunflower.
Staff and Residents teamed up and looked after them, tending to their every need.
The Wellbeing Coordinator measured each sunflower and Pat Willis won with her sunflower which measured 2-meters in height.
Pat commented, “I am so happy to have won, I have looked after it and it makes me smile each day”.
Sarah Todd, Care Home Manager remarked, “It is a great feeling when the staff and Residents come together, and you can see the enjoyment in their faces”.
