The Relative of a Resident at HC-One’s Hurst Hall care home in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester has very generously sent in some lovely gifts from her local knitting group.
The gifts, called ‘twiddle pockets’, are designed for people who like to have small items to fiddle with. They are great for Residents with dementia as holding and playing with the textures and gadgets of the twiddle pocket can produce a calming effect.
The thoughtful gifts were donated by Karen, the Niece of a Resident at the home, and her knitting club. She also thanked the Colleagues at Hurst Hall for everything they have done to keep Residents happy and safe during such a hard time.
Karen wrote: “Thank you for doing your job and looking after the Residents during this extremely difficult period.”
Should the twiddle pockets prove to be popular, Karen and her friends in the group have kindly offered to make more to keep the Residents at Hurst Hall active and stimulated.
Hurst Hall Home Manager, Deborah Finley, commented: “It was a lovely surprise and the kind comments make all the difference. I am sure we will be asking for more twiddle pockets!”
