Tameside Residents tuck into pancakes on Shrove TuesdayResidents are enjoying a breakfast feast this morning with a bit of entertainment to celebrate Pancake Day at HC-One’s The Beeches care home in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester.

Everyone started their day today with delicious pancakes, topped with honey or lemon with a sprinkle of sugar.

Residents reminisced about the times they would make pancakes with their family. laughing over their infamous pancake-flipping disasters. They remembered eating pancakes after school of work for dinner and hailed Pancake Day as the only day you could have a sweet treat for tea.

While tucking into their delicious treats, Residents enjoyed listening to some local entertainment. Ricky Birchill, a singer from the area, has been recording videos and sending them into the home as a way to keep everyone in high spirits.

Residents listened to covers of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, The Temptations and even Ed Sheeran. Everyone enjoyed singing along with Ricky between bites of pancakes - a wonderful start to the day.

The Beeches Colleague, Sade, said: “The Residents enjoyed the pancakes today with different toppings. We also enjoyed the singer. Everyone joined in and it’s nice to keep the entertainment going in these difficult times.”
