Teesside care home Resident celebrates her incredible 98th birthdayA Resident enjoyed a pamper and plenty of treats as she celebrated her birthday yesterday at HC-One’s Park House care home in Guisborough, Redcar and Cleveland.

Dorothy Freeman spent the day being fussed over by Colleagues as she had her hair done so that she could look her very best for the big day.

She received lots of lovely cards and flowers from her family both in the UK and in New Zealand. As Dorothy struggles with sight, a Wellbeing Coordinator read out the messages and described the beautiful bouquet of flowers as Dorothy laughed and fawned over her birthday wishes.

One of the cards was from her sister Audrey. The card reminded her of a fond memory and she told Colleagues the tale of her neighbours who, coincidentally, were also sisters named Dorothy and Audrey.

Dorothy said: “I’ve had a lovely day. I feel very special.”

A Colleague at the home baked Dorothy a lovely cake in one of her favourite flavours which she gladly shared with fellow Residents at the home.

Park House Home Manager, Julie Woods, commented: “It was lovely to see Dorothy smiling all day.”
