The Elms care home celebrates garden competition winEarlier in the year, Colleagues at The Elms care home, in Peterborough, wrote about the upcoming HC-One Gardening Competition that many of the homes were entering into.

Colleague Dale, who joined the wellbeing team around this time, decided to start a 'Gardening Club' along with Janette, Lead Wellbeing Coordinator. The Residents enjoyed planting and potting and the home count themselves incredibly lucky with the weather as it was perfect for plants!

On the days that it rained, they brought the club indoors. Everyone chatted, laughed and sang throughout, it was a lot of fun! The Resident members, including Brian F, Brian R, Deanna, Elizabeth, Kevin and Doris, all enjoy being out in the sun and having fun reminiscing and chatting.

Well everyone at the home were very pleased when they were announced as winners for 2020!

Everyone is absolutely thrilled and very proud. They are now looking forward to a plaque that will be displayed proudly at the front of the home.

Everyone said they are so pleased and others said they must do it all again and look forward to next year.

Home Manager, Katie Coulson, said, “This is a fantastic achievement for The Elms and everyone involved should be so proud...the gardens look beautiful.”
