Tipton care home start the New YearWith peg art, make-over Mondays and choosing a Resident of the day, Waterside care home, in the West Midlands, have certainly been keeping themselves busy starting 2021 off with a bang!

Residents Dorothy Poutney, Pamela Mole, Audrey Bartley and Alice Arblaster have enjoyed making peg art. The activity went down a treat and Colleague Billie remarked, “Everyone really got stuck into this activity, and we will definitely be doing it again.”

Last week, ‘Make-over Monday’ took place and has been going down extremely well. Residents are able to enjoy hand massages, nail care and facials by Colleagues. Cynthia, who lives at Waterside, said that she felt like a new woman, after relaxing and getting pampered.

And the activities don’t stop there.

Waterside now give the title of ‘Resident of the Day’ to one special person each day of the week. Billie said, “We try to make all our Residents feel special, so each day we chose a different one and make a big fuss!”

Recently, Bill was chosen as Resident of the Day, and one of the things he enjoyed, whilst holding the title, was a Guinness with his dinner (which he thoroughly enjoyed!”)

Home Manager, Farai Maringa, commented, “We always have plenty going on at Waterside care home to keep people entertained. And we have certainly started 2021 off well with a number of activities. Well done to a fantastic team!”
