Transporting back in time to post-war Britain at Braintree care home
At Acorn Garden, part of Larchwood care home in Essex, they held a 40s and 50s themed music event where Residents were transported back in time to post war Britain.

The Residents waved Union Jack flags, wearing their party hats and singing along to the wartime songs playing.

One Larchwood Colleague said, “The weather was lovely on the day and all Residents really enjoyed the music. Lots of smiles and laughter could be heard”.
A Resident said it reminded her of the street parties they had after the war had finished. And another got up dancing to the beat.

Home Manager, Jade Leigh Smith, said, “The event went very well, it is nice to see our Residents enjoy themselves so much. They all can’t wait until next week which is going to be ‘Swinging Sixties’ themed”.
