Two big 90th birthday parties at Manchester care homeResidents Kathleen Webb and Dorothy Hill, at HC One’s Brookdale View, have both celebrated their big 90th birthdays this week.

The week of the 14th September marked two important landmark birthdays for two Nursing Residents at the Manchester care home.

On Monday 14th, it was Kathleen Webb's Birthday, and her family celebrated by sending her a big cake, flowers, large balloons and a brand new large television which Kathleen loves very much.

Later on in the week, Dorothy Hill celebrated her 90th also with a cake, flowers and balloons. Dorothy's family provided a video message from her great-grand children which was of great delight to her. Her son had also collated a special photo album of Dorothy's life through the decades with all her special family pictures.

It was a joy to behold and have special messages from Dorothy’s church and friends of the family. The nurses, carers and wellbeing coordinator were all on hand to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ and make sure the day passed successfully!

Dorothy said “I want to thank you for going to all the trouble and making a fuss of me.”

Home manager Liz Walker commented “It was so lovely to see the Residents' happy - particularly in these testing times when families can't visit.”

Both Residents enjoyed their special days and the staff are still celebrating now with all the left-over birthday cake!
