VE Day celebrations enjoyed at Coventry care homeResidents and Colleagues at HC One’s Victoria Manor care home celebrated the 75th anniversary of VE day today.

Staff at the Coventry care home wanted to make this day as special as they could, especially with what is going on in the current situation.

Films were put on of the day itself back then, which made Residents spend time reminiscing and sharing stories of the ‘good old days’.

There was also a 2 minute silence which everybody took part in to pay their respects.

The home had its own ‘street party’ theme at lunch time, with spam, dripping sandwiches, Victoria sponge and trifle all on the menu! There were plenty of other British themed food on offer too.

Staff played out music in the garden and everybody joined in singing and dancing, it was a fantastic day enjoyed by all.
One of the Residents commented “You have done us all proud, you have made it such a nice day for us all!”
