Wakefield care home Residents celebrates 104th birthdayA special Resident at HC-One’s Snapethorpe Hall in Wakefield recently celebrated her 104th birthday, with the help of Colleagues in the home.

Snapethorpe Hall Resident, Daisy Gardener, turned 104 on 15th September and celebrated the amazing achievement in the home with Colleagues and with a visit and video call from her family.

In the morning of her birthday, Daisy had a visit from her son and daughter, who wished her a happy birthday albeit socially distanced. Then, she was treated to a video call from her daughter and son in law all the way from Australia.

Snapethorpe Hall Resident, Daisy said: “This is the best birthday I could ever remember. I loved spending time with my family and the surprise afternoon tea.”

During the afternoon, Daisy took centre stage as she enjoyed her very own afternoon tea with fellow Residents and Colleagues in the home. Daisy enjoyed a little drink and cutting her cake later in the day.

Snapethorpe Hall Home Manager Julia Davison said: “Daisy has really enjoyed her day today. She’s already talking about how she wishes to celebrate her next.”
