Wakefield care home Residents send knitted hearts to their loved onesResidents at HC-One’s Snapethorpe Hall care home in Wakefield have sent out some lovely knitted heart keyrings to their loved ones, along with a card with a heartfelt message inside.

At Snapethorpe Hall, a small number of Residents have been unable to experience video calls with their loved ones or have family visits for a variety of reasons. However, with the help of Michelle Eastwood, Snapethorpe Halls wellbeing coordinator, Resident have been able to send messages of love to their family and friends.

Gemma helped gather some cards and photographs of Residents that could be used to send out to show that they are all doing great and are safe and well. Residents helped put their own cards together and before sending them off, they put a knitted heart keyring in the envelope along with the card.

One Snapethorpe Hall Resident said: “I miss my husband so much but he’s too poorly to visit. He will get this and know that I am fine.”

Visits have been amazing for Residents and Relatives over the last few weeks, but for some Resident, they are not possible.

Snapethorpe Hall Home Manager, Julia Davison said: “We try and make the visits as inclusive as possible but realise it’s not always an option for some families.”
