Resident Jasmyn Rayner celebrated her 102nd birthday at
River Court Care Home in Watford on 5th May. The birthday girl enjoyed a room filled with decorations, presents and flowers, while she proudly opened birthday gifts given to her by the staff.
Making her day extra special, carers at Hampermill House arranged a surprise controlled indoor visit with Jasmyn’s son, Nick, meaning Jasmyn could open her gifts and toast to reaching another milestone with her loved one. Jasmyn also received birthday wishes from the rest of the staff at River Court.
Topping off the birthday celebrations, the care home Colleagues hosted a party for Jasmyn and all Residents to enjoy, complete with some snacks and homemade birthday cake. Residents and carers spent the afternoon dancing, laughing and playing party games.
Jasmyn has been with River Court for many years now and it is a pleasure to Colleagues to see her go strong. She is truly evergreen and such a wonderful and kind-hearted person.
Commenting on her birthday celebrations, Jasmyn said: “I had a wonderful day. I feel very valued and blessed to have such beautiful individuals around me and would like to thank the wonderful team here at Hampermill House for making such a fuss of me. Getting to see my son made it extra special and I will cherish the memories.”
Jasmyn’s son, Nick, said, “What the team at River Court have done for my mum today has been overwhelming! They have been amazing and gone above and beyond their role to ensure that mum had a fantastic day despite the ongoing challenges of the pandemic. I cannot thank them enough.”
Home Manager at River Court Care Home, Bijoy Philip, added, “On behalf of all the staff and Residents here at River Court, I would like to take this opportunity to wish Jasmyn a Happy 102nd birthday.”
