Wear it Pink day at Godden Lodge homeToday at Godden Lodge care home in Benfleet, Essex, everyone wore the colour pink to raise money for breast cancer as part of ‘Wear it Pink’ Day.

Colleagues and Residents across site wore pink with style, even wearing pink personal protective equipment masks! They are still receiving donations for the cause so don't have a total yet but would like to say a huge well done to Colleagues for the amount raised so far.

Also, Kitchen Assistant Nuttikan Corbett, known as ‘Ni’ around the home, cut and shaved her hair in memory of her husband Ken. She has donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust to make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer. Ni has her own fundraising page to donate money to Macmillan.

Another member of kitchen team, Sue, made pink cupcakes and sold them to raise more funds.

Colleagues Sue, Chloe, Cortney and Laura all said, “Well done Ni, we are all so proud of you!”

Residents enjoyed taking part in wearing pink and having the breast cancer logo on their face, one remarked, “It’s lovely what you are doing and well done to the lady who cut her hair”

Home Manager, Lanie Mizona, commented, “I'm very proud of the staff for the day. We are so proud of her for being such a brave woman and the results are beautiful!”
