Welcoming new Resident to Sutton-In-Ashfield homeCelia, a Resident at HC One’s Stoneyford care home, has been welcomed into the home.

Welcoming new Residents in the midst of a pandemic has presented a number of challenges for the Sutton-In-Ashfield care home and other across the country.

The most difficult being the initial 2 week isolation and families being unable to visit. The family of one of the new Resident's came up with a lovely idea of how to make this easier.

They carefully prepared 14 days worth of presents and cards for Celia to unwrap and read each day. Colleagues at the home thought this was a great idea and provided great comfort to Celia during her isolation period.

Celia commented “ooh another present!”

This idea also helped the team to get to know Celia, as they asked about all the different cards she had received and learned about her family and friends.

The home manager said “hat's off to Celia's family, they have found a lovely way to make a difficult time so much easier.”
