West Midlands home go all out for VJ DayVictoria Manor care home in Whitley celebrated VJ Day today with cakes, singing, dancing and remembering loved ones.

Residents and Colleagues alike watched the events on TV altogether and reminisced about war times. Plus, there was a coffee morning with lots of gorgeous cakes to share as well as a tea dance and a sing-along.

Staff had decorated the home throughout with banners and signs and nearly all of the Residents got involved and had an enjoyable morning together.

In particular, Residents Jean Bashford and Julia Kemp, were getting very involved in the celebrations and had a great time.

One Resident remarked, “Strawberry gateau, my favourite, I must come again.

Another commented on the music, “That song took me back to my wedding day, how beautiful that day was”.

A HC-One Wellbeing Colleague said, “It is just lovely to see everyone enjoy themselves with the time we are going through”.
