West Yorkshire care home mark Black History MonthToday at Ash Grange care home, in Bloxwich, they celebrated Black History month.

For lunch, Residents had a beautiful choice of West Indian beef stew with a selection of vegetables or fried chicken with southern gravy. As well as the traditional Friday fish, chips and peas. For dessert, the Residents enjoyed breaded banana with custard. 

“We had an afternoon of reminiscing about the cultures of the food from the afternoon, as well as past and present celebrities along – while enjoying cake and a nice cup of tea,” explained one of the carers at the home, “It was lovely to enjoy various meals from different cultures which went down really well with Residents!”

Resident John Brocklehurst, said that the beef stew was “beautiful.”

Anita Horton, Home Manager, said, “The meal went down really well and it was nice to see the Residents enjoying it.”
