Westbury Residents mark 76 years of VE DayAt HC-One’s the Westbury care home, in Wiltshire, which offers residential and nursing care, as well as care for people with physical disabilities, VE Day was marked with singalongs and a fantastic tea party.

The Residents joined Colleagues in the lounge to celebrate VE day. First of all, everyone was reminiscing about their time on this day in 1945 and events that occurred during the war.

Then everyone talked about the evacuees that came to Wilshire. One Resident got very close to an evacuee and corresponded with them after the war.

In the afternoon a tea party was put on as well as a singalong. Everyone engaged with each other and had a thoroughly good afternoon.

Dana Sandu, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Everyone had a really good day, with huge thanks to my Colleagues Jacquie and Anthony for putting on a really good day! Joined in with the singalong was very uplifting.”
