Westbury care home Residents are whisked away on a virtual cruise to ItalyResidents have enjoyed a virtual trip to Italy at HC-One’s The Westbury care home in Wiltshire.

They watched beautiful videos of the ports and seas of Civitavecchia before making their way to the beautiful city of Rome to take in the magnificent architecture. Residents learned all about the culture and history of Rome, provided by acting tour guide, and home Colleague, Jacqui Evans.

Mary, a Resident at The Westbury, commented: “The cruise was very enjoyable. It was lovely to listen to the history of Rome and Italy.”

After an afternoon taking in the sights and learning about the Roman culture, the Residents stopped off for refreshments provided by The Westbury Chef Antonio.

They taste-tested delicious cannoli, panzerotti and focaccia, all washed down with a cold glass of limoncello or Italian wine.

The Westbury Colleague, Jacqui, said: “It was a lovely afternoon. It’s just a shame the sun didn’t make an appearance!”
