A Resident at HC-One’s Barleystone Court care home in Westquarter has recently celebrated the huge achievement of reaching 102, with her friends in the home.
Barleystone Resident Janet, celebrated her 102nd birthday on 18th October by enjoying a lovely afternoon tea with her best friend at the home, Mary.
Janet and Mary both enjoyed sandwiches, scones and cakes and had a lovely time opening the presents that had been sent in for Janet, which included flowers, a box of handmade cupcakes and lots of chocolates. Janet joked that she would need to watch her figure after eating it all.
Both Janet and Mary said that they had thoroughly enjoyed being fussed over and having a socially distanced cup of tea and a good chat with each other.
Janet, a Resident at Barleystone said: “I didn’t expect any fuss, it was a lovely little surprise.”
When asked her secret to a long life, Janet replied that she had worked hard all of her life.
