Whitley Bay care home celebrates Pride monthResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Eastbourne House care home in Whitley Bat enjoyed Pride celebrations this month as they championed inclusivity and educated themselves on what it means to be different.

To help Residents celebrate and understand the month of Pride, Colleagues threw a fantastically colourful Pride Party with lots of singing and dancing and had a karaoke night accompanied with a themed rainbow cake in support of the LGBTQ flag.

Zoe Payne, Eastbourne House’s wellbeing coordinator dressed up for the part and gave the Residents colourful wigs to wear and a microphone to sing into for the karaoke session.

“I feel like it’s really important that we celebrate something that is so important to me, I attend pride festival in Newcastle every year and believe that is just as important as any other theme and celebration,” said wellbeing coordinator, Zoe Payne.

Colleagues also painted Residents faces with the colours of the rainbow and sang and danced along with them to some pop music.

One Eastbourne House Resident said: “I’m thrilled to be celebrating something that is so important, love is love.”
