Wigston care home Resident enjoys surprise Skype callChristine, a Resident at HC One’s Cedar Court care home, had a lovely afternoon Skype call with her son today.

As the Wigston care home has not been able to have visitors, Skype calls have been so important in keeping communication frequent between Residents and their loved ones.

To be able to see each other on the screen is the next best thing to it being in person, so Colleagues have been trying to ensure these happen regularly.

One Resident Christine, was feeling a bit down so a Colleague at the home set up a surprise Skype call from her son, Danny.

When Christine saw her son’s face on the screen, her face lit up with the biggest smile. It was such a joy for staff to see how happy she was.

It is small moments like this that can make such a huge difference to somebody’s day.

Christine said “I really enjoyed seeing my Danny on the computer.”
