Zimbabwean international cuisine day at Middlesex homeEvery week on Thursdays at Aston House they host an 'International Cuisine' lunch for Residents and staff; reflecting their respective countries.

The menu for this Thursday was Zimbabwean food with accompanying Zimbabwean music. Everyone looked stunning in their green and red Zimbabwean dress code that symbolises the colour flag of Zimbabwe.

The dining table was decorated with the represented nation. One of the carers, who is experienced in this type of cuisine, assisted the cook with a delicious Zimbabwean traditional dish named 'Fufu' and some Nigerian dessert.

“Indeed! It is fantastic to smell and taste different dishes from around the globe”, Theodora, one of the new Residents commented.  She explained that it was a unique and wonderful meal to her.

Residents enjoy the variety in dishes and music of International Cuisine. Alice, who is also a Resident, said that she was thrilled to join together in sharing different cultural cuisines.

Home Manager, Seema Sandeep-Jose, remarked, “It was an amazing lunch experience to our Residents and staff. Themed events based on a particular country or culture can be lots of fun. Our Residents do enjoy it”.
