We are really pleased to be able to open our homes up in many ways since coronavirus restrictions have continued to ease.
We look forward to safely welcoming both existing and prospective Residents and their loved ones to our homes. However, please note that visiting procedures are determined on a home by home basis and, where necessary, alternative arrangements will be discussed with you upon booking your visit.
Our Home Managers are in the best position to determine where and how visits are booked and take place so they can be sure they are safely managed. Every decision made by the care home will be to keep your loved ones, our Colleagues, and our visitors safe.
Viewing our homes
Booking your visit
For those who would like to book a viewing, they can do so in a number of different ways, either via contacting our friendly Careline Team on 0333 999 8699, direct with the home or through our electronic booking tool, accessed via the individual home’s page on our website. You will be advised upon booking what to expect on arrival, the infection control measures that are in place and guidance to follow during your visit.
Keeping you and our Residents safe during your visit
While you will be shown the key aspects of the home, we still need to ensure the safety of everyone in our homes, therefore the areas you will be shown may be limited, but you will still experience the best possible sense of the home. Our Home Managers are in the best position to determine how these visits are supported both safely and effectively in your area.
Visiting friends and loved ones
We are supporting safe visits to our care homes in line with the latest Government guidance and local public health advice.
Providing safe visiting options
Depending on local guidelines, current circumstances within the home and individual Resident requirements, our homes may offer a range of visits, including indoor visits, garden and window visits, visits from essential care givers and visits in exceptional circumstances, including compassionate visits. We can also arrange for you to stay in touch with your loved ones via Zoom or telephone calls if you are unable to visit your loved one in person.
Booking your visit
We have a booking system in place across all our care homes to help you get the most out of your visit, by ensuring we have the required staff and support in place to efficiently conduct testing and adhere to PPE and infection control guidelines.
Lateral Flow Device testing
A Lateral Flow Device (LFD) test must be carried out prior to your visit to the home, as a fast and easy way to test those who do not have symptoms of COVID-19, but who may still be spreading the virus.
If you are being tested for coronavirus at the home before your visit, we kindly ask that you arrive 30 minutes before your pre-booked visit to ensure that we have enough time to accommodate the testing process.
If you choose to self-test before arrival at the care home, please seek permission from the home beforehand and show evidence of a recent negative test undertaken through other means. This test must be taken on the same day as the visit.
Infection control measures
In conjunction with the introduction of visitor testing, we must also continue to follow other Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures, including social distancing, good hand hygiene procedures, and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
A Colleague will be available to discuss these infection control measures, to assist you with donning and doffing your PPE and to discuss any concerns you may have.
