Today at HC-One’s
Hyde nursing and nursing memory care home, in Greater Manchester, one of the Residents Myra celebrated her 55th wedding anniversary with husband Brian.
Wellbeing Coordinator Adam, Home Manager Irina and Domestic Colleague Amy got together to discuss what they could do earlier in the week and it was decided on a surprise party in the home’s visiting room.
After being told it was the 50th anniversary (in an unfortunate communication error) Colleagues bought all golden decorations and a 50th balloon set! But Adam and Amy got to work and quickly changed everything, they even ran out to buy a spare ‘5’ balloon and change anything that had 50 on it, to 55!
Vicky, one of the home’s Care Assistants, bought a bottle of alcohol-free prosecco and a cake from an outside shop for all to enjoy.
Myra enjoyed spending time with her husband.
Brian commented, “Thank you for putting so much effort in, we feel very special.”
Irina added, “Real love stories never have endings. We are all so happy to share this moment with them.”
