90th celebrations and a Dining for Dignity danceToday there were celebrations at Adelaide House care home, in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey with a milestone birthday followed by a dinner dance!

Firstly, was Resident John’s 90th birthday with a socially distanced visit from his daughter followed by lots of cards and presents from toiletries to a brand spanking new hair trimmer! John loved it, he had chocolate birthday cake and all the songs and congratulations from everyone in the home.

After all the celebrations, Colleagues put on some old classics on the cd player and danced together from Run Around Sue to Elton John. Everyone was very tired from all the dancing sat down to a delicious meal of cauliflower cheese and gammon (John’s favourite meal). All was served with a glass or two of red or white wine washed down with jelly and ice cream! A classic!

“Beautiful food and fab atmosphere, there were smiles all round. Unfortunately, all the Residents were asleep from all the dancing so we were unable to get comments from them!” joked one of the Colleagues.

The dancing was loved the best by all Residents, even the ladies and gents that didn’t want to dance, just watching made their day!
