A cup of tea for the Queen at Bankhouse care homeBankhouse residential, residential dementia, nursing and nursing dementia care home, in Poulton Le Fylde, celebrated the Queen`s birthday today, which coincided nicely with National Tea Day. So, guess how everyone celebrated?

Residents enjoyed a tea party with cake fancies and a cup of tea served in the best china as Colleagues served drinks wearing fancy aprons and the Residents dressed up in their best hats.

It was originally planned to enjoy the warm sunshine outside and have a garden party with G&T on the drink’s menu, however the weather turned cold quickly so it was decided that the party would take place indoors.

Residents particularly enjoyed dressing up with hats and using the posh cups. One Resident remarked, “I’ve never had a G&T I will be having another!”

Janet Barnes, Care Home Manager, said, “We wanted to celebrate the Queen`s birthday by having a Garden Party but the weather turned cold so what a great alternative!”
