A traditional Burns Night supper at Cheshire care homeResidents at HC-One’s Lauren Court care home in Blacon, Chester celebrated Burns Night this year with plenty of traditional Scottish food and singing.

They enjoyed a two-course meal consisting of haggis, neeps and tatties for their main course, followed closely by a delicious cranachan.

The dining room was beautifully decorated for the event with tartan bunting and plenty of Scottish flags. Tables were lain with tartan napkins and party poppers and traditional Scottish folk tunes played in the background.

One Resident commented: “It was a really enjoyable way to celebrate Burns Night.”

Residents were awestruck at the amount of work Colleagues put into organising the celebrations and decorating the home.

After their delicious Scottish meal, Residents and Colleagues alike ended the evening with a rendition of Auld Lang Syne, before settling down with a cup of tea for a bit of chatter.

Lauren Court Wellbeing Coordinator, Rebecca, said: “It was lovely being able to have a celebration together, especially singing Auld Lang Syne at the end.

“It’s a tune that holds so many memories for everyone so it was really special.”
