A tribute to Market Lavington ResidentJune Clack, who has been a Resident at Market Lavington residential, nursing and residential memory care home, in Wiltshire, for a number of years, and has sadly passed away recently so Colleagues have got together and reminisced on the time they had with June.

Her funeral was on the 21st September and her family created the wonderful collage of photographs that you can see in the accompanying picture, held by the home’s two Care Assistants; Marta Incledon and Trina Hughes. Marta and Trina were very fond of June and cared for her ever since she came to live at Market Lavington.

June was a very active Resident of Market Lavington, whether it was arts and craft groups, baking groups, music clubs or anything else that was going on. She loved to socialise and mix with others, always laughing and seeing the funny side of things, and always helpful towards other Residents.

Wellbeing Coordinator, Riaz Ali, remarked, “My own first memory of June was on my first day of work when I was introduced to her and I asked her if she had any questions for me. She replied “What do you think you can bring to the group?” which I thought (and still think) is one of the best questions a Resident can ask of a staff member!”

He went on, “I remember trips out with June, when myself and the previous Wellbeing Coordinator Eleanor, would take her and other Residents to places such as the Rowdey Cow Farm CafĂ© for ice cream, or to Whitehall Garden Centre at Christmas to see their lavish Christmas displays, or to St Johns Church in Devizes for various activities. She was always keenly interested in everything and often cracking jokes and laughing with us due to her various observations of the world around her!”

June will be remembered with much affection by all staff and Residents who befriended her over the years.

The new garden area that is currently being created at the back of the care home building, comprising of new flower beds and patio areas with seating for Residents, will be named ‘The June Clack Garden’ in honour of her memory.

Marta remarked, “We won’t forget her. She was such a lovely person.”

Trina added, “The funeral was so wonderful and joyous and a beautiful celebration of her life.”
