On 13th November, Colleagues had a few requests from Residents on the Gerard and Pilling units do some therapeutic colouring in.

Wellbeing Coordinators, Stacey and Annmarie, have been providing the communities with a selection of rummage boxes and the colouring books came out and everyone involved had a lovely relacing time while staff played some light music in the background.

Kathleen, who is a Residents, enjoyed the colouring in and sing along, she was so happy.

Fellow Resident Margaret coloured a collage of a flower in and asked if it could be cut out and put up in her bedroom. Colleagues are going to laminate it for her.

Stacey would like to thank the Carers for helping gather Residents to get involved. The rummage boxes are going down well.

On 14th November, in the town of Ashton-in-Makerfield, there was a Remembrance town walk through annual parade near the Garswood Hall War Memorial which passes by the home.

Some Residents assembled outside to wave those participating in the parade. Kathleen, Veronica and Mathew all enjoyed sitting outside and watching the parade. Other Residents including Joyce, Jimmy and Grace all watched from the window.

Veronica and Kathleen both shed a tear when the brass band passed the home.

Stacey added, “People who were in the parade waved as they passed by and Mathew enjoyed waving at all the children involved in carrying the flag.”
