An education in marine life at Inverness care homeResidents spent a snowy afternoon learning about the coast today at HC-One’s Cradlehall care home in Cradlehall, Inverness.

The Scottish Seabird Centre kindly provided an online education pack to teach Residents about the beauties of seaside nature.

One Resident, who enjoyed watching videos of seabirds, commented: “Look at that beautiful bird, you would think it’s in the room.

We’ve really enjoyed the pack and would like to see more.”

Residents were able to watch videos, listen to relaxing coastal sounds and read articles about coastal birds, sea creatures and vegetation.

A Member of the Care Team at the home was surprised at the clarity of the resources as they laughed: “As I walked through the lounge I stopped and looked around for the birds.

The sound was so clear!”

The online pack is an excellent resource that be accessed easily by Residents to make them feel at one with the ocean while they enjoyed a scone and a cup of tea in the warm.

Cradlehall Home Manager, Fiona Sutherland, said: “This was a wonderful marine-based resource, providing moments and mindfulness and escapism during these difficult times.”
