Residents at Court House
residential and nursing care home, in Malvern, have been enjoying some gardening as their sunflower growing competition kicks off.
Wellbeing Coordinator, Hannah Newrick, said "Everybody who wished to take part chose a couple of seeds and has really enjoyed watching them turn into seedlings, growing under their care on their windowsills.”
Residents have now planted them outside. A prize will be awarded for the tallest sunflower.
Peter Jordan, who was treasurer of the Malvern Horticultural Society for 25 years, said "I'm very much looking forward to seeing them grow, I've always had a passion for gardening".
Everyone is enjoying watching them grow in their bedrooms before going outside.
Sujon Dennington, who lives at Court House, and always has a ready smile helped to dig a hole, encouraged, “Good luck everybody!"
