Birthday celebrations for Mary at Ash Court care homeKnotty Ash located care home, Ash Court, is very proud to be the home of Resident Mary King who recently celebrated her birthday.

Mary was born on 13th October 1932 in Liverpool. She worked in a tobacco factory and enjoys dancing. Mary got married to her husband Arthur and they have a son called John and a daughter called Ann. She is also very proud of her grandchildren.

Mary’s secret to living a long life is, “Just get on with it and smile.”

At the home, Mary's birthday celebrations began in the lounge with other Residents and Colleagues singing "Happy Birthday" to her.

A sing-a-long was then held in the lounge and the songs were dedicated to Mary for her special day.

Mary then enjoyed a glass of Bucks Fizz before enjoying her lunch. Mary was then sung "Happy Birthday" to, again as she was presented with her birthday cake, which she enjoyed a piece of.

Mary received phone calls from her family throughout the day and then enjoyed a window visit with her daughter.

Home Manager, Laura Mosedale, remarked, “We were so honoured to help Mary celebrate her birthday and were glad she had a wonderful day with friends and family”.
